Friday Feature Part Deux

Just another peaceful night at the Tschoepe’s.

Maybe this is what I should be for Holloween

Last night I dreamed I was infiltrating the Chinese CIA Sydney Bristow style.  Each agent was a young school girl not unlike Gogo Yubari except, you know, Chinese.

True Confessions Tuesday

Kathryn | Things I wish you didn't know | Tuesday, 26 September 2006

I watched every single episode of Beverly Hills 90210 starting with the pilot on it’s original air date.  I was in Jr. High when it started and out of college when Drew and I watched the last episode at Kent’s house.

(insert theme song here)

Also, I watch them again in re-runs.  It’s an interesting thing watching them now and remembering what I thought of the plots at the time I first saw them.  I didn’t remember Kelly being so annoying during the college years.  (hers, not mine)

Completely unrelated: Last weekend Kent and I went down to our old neighborhood to take some pictures (you can see them in my portfolio if you click the link on the right, they’re after all the botanical stuff).  At one point we were driving through an unfamiliar (read sketchy) part of Dallas in our white Subaru with our own personal Starbucks cups in the cup holders listening to our ipod Nano and Kent said "I just want to wipe the yuppie off.  Can we do that?"

So in a true confession Tuesday two-fer: internet; I AM A YUPPIE.  Blech.  Anyone know how to wipe that off?  God I hope so.

Anatomy of a love scene

Kathryn | Uncategorized | Friday, 22 September 2006

Did anyone else catch Greys Anatomy last night?   Kent wasn’t feeling the episode, he thought it was forced.  But I was swooning like a school girl.  I’m in camp McDreamy.  Partly because his "I made the wrong choice" speach was SO much better than the "My hat’s in the ring" speach.  But mostly because I’ve had a crush on Patrick Dempsy since Can’t buy me love.  Who would you choose?

As if I didn’t have enough diapers to change

Kathryn | Uncategorized | Thursday, 21 September 2006

Update: I should add that Kent has offered to watch the baby while I go and do something I want to do.

Bella dog has started. Arg.  I just spent the last twenty minutes changing Ellis’s poopy diaper and Bella’s bloody diaper and Kent is riding straight after work which means he won’t be home until after bed time.  And I’m just a little pissy.  I don’t know, I just think that twice a week is overdoing it a bit.  Why won’t the baby stop freaking crying?  He can actually SEE me I’m just not right there next to him and it’s not good enough.  So yeah, I’m having a great day.

True Confession Tuesday

Kathryn | Things I wish you didn't know | Tuesday, 19 September 2006

In an effort to become more at peace with my inner dork, I have decided to lay it all out there and say fuck it.  This is who I am, take it or leave it.  I once saw an interview with Kate Winslet in which she was discussing why she chose to take a role (I don’t remember which one).  She said she took the role because she would be out of her comfort zone.  It scared her and that’s exactly why she had to do it.

I get that.  One can not grow if one doesn’t move outside their comfort zone.  So in that vein comes True Confessions Tuesday.  Some will be silly, some will not, and I invite you all to join in and leave your own stories in the comments if you want to.

 Here goes…

A few months ago my husband brought home a bunch of Susan Lucci products that someone at his office had asked if he wanted to give to me.  I scoffed, Susan Lucci has a skin care line?  Where does she sell that shit QVC?  Then he told me it sells for mucho bucks on ebay.  And I said Really?  Then was forced to try them because they must be fabulous if people will pay lots of money for them.  And ya’ll, they’re really great.  I’m not sure which is more embarrassing, the fact that I now use Susan Lucci products because other people pay lots of money for them or that I know what Erica Kane is up to this very minute in Pine Valley. Damn you Soap Net, damn you.

Bookie

Kathryn | Bookie | Sunday, 17 September 2006

I’ve always been one to always be reading something.  As a kid I spent most of my free time with my nose in the spine of a book.  Anything from the Babysitters Club books to The Chronicles of Narnia.  I always have a book with me in case I get some down time.  Now that I’m lugging around enough stuff for two people I’ve found that stationing a book in a place where I’m likely to get a chance to read it works well.  One book in the car, one book in the bag, one book by the bed, you get the picture.  Consequently I’m usually reading several things at once.  It takes me a lot longer these days to finish them. I used to devour books in a few hours or a few days, now it’s usually a few weeks.  I’m listing my current books-in-progress in the side-bar. If you’ve read something I’m reading, or have a suggestion for my next book I’d love to hear about it.  You can email me at kathryn at katiemagic dot com.  I’ll be posting my thoughts about each selection upon completion.
